| I've never used a pet-sitter... how does it work? How much notice is required to schedule services? How long does each visit last? What supplies do I need to provide? What are your payment policies? Can I call to check on my pets? What if my plans change while I’m away?
I've never used a pet-sitter... how does it work? Our goal is to make leaving your fur kids as easy for you as possible. We start with a free in-home consultation called a meet and greet so that we can meet you, your fur kids, review our paperwork, receive a key, go over your normal care routine and see where everything is located, favorite toys, special needs, medications, and answer any questions you might have. We also spend time with your pets so that they can become familiar and comfortable with us and we get to know their individual personality. We do require that your pets be up-to-date on their vaccinations, especially rabies. This meeting also gives you an opportunity to meet us, learn about our policies and procedures, and ask any questions that you have. How much notice is required to schedule services? We require at least 4-days notice for scheduled services. During busy times, such as holidays, we recommend that you contact us as early as possible as we book according to first come, first served. Our schedules do fill up more quickly around major holidays. We do however understand that last minute changes in plans, trips, meetings, and vacations do come up and do our best to accommodate last minute requests. How long does each visit last? Our basic visit is 20 minutes. If you feel your fur kids need extra personalized attention, we are more than happy to spend additional time with them! We will stay in 10 minute increments beyond the typical 20 minute visit. Please visit our Services page for a fee schedule. What supplies do I need to provide? We request that you supply pet food and treats, cat litter and a scooper (for cats), plastic bags to dispose of waste, a leash and collar in good condition with ID and local license tag (for dogs), a drying towel, toys, a brush and comb, paper towels and cleaning supplies, and any required medications with instructions. Enough of the above supplies should be provided to last for the duration of our visits. We will purchase supplies if required, and will add the cost to your invoice along with a convenience fee. A list of requested supplies will be given to you at the initial meet and greet. What are your payment policies? We require full payment prior to the first day of pet sitting. Most of our clients leave a check or cash on their kitchen table or counter while some clients mail payment ahead of time. For daily mid-day care, clients can pay by the week or the month. If paying by the week, we request payment each Monday, and if paying by the month, payment should be made the first business day of each month. Can I call to check on my pets? We understand how difficult it is to be separated from your fur kids! If you would like to contact us between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. EST daily to check on your pets please feel free to do so! If we are unable to answer the phone when you call, please leave a message with the best number to reach you at, and we will call you back as soon as we are able. What if my plans change while I’m away? We understand your plans may change and are very flexible if notified. If you need to return home early or need to extend your absence, please notify us immediately by calling 215.353.8820 (Kim Mann) or 215.801.2852 (Kristi Strang). Please do not email us unless it is more than 24 hours prior to your change of plans. If you do not notify us of an early return and we arrive at the appointed time to find you home, the regular per visit charge applies. |
